A tattoo shop employee was killed in a shootout with an armed suspect Tuesday night in Dallas’ Cedar Crest neighborhood.
The victim died at a hospital after exchanging gunfire with the attacker outside Legendary Ink.
Police have not made an arrest or determined a motive.
The confrontation erupted around 10 p.m. when an armed person approached the employee outside the shop on East 11th Street at Cedar Crest Boulevard.

Both the suspect and victim fired shots at each other, according to police at the scene, Fox 4 KDFW reported.
The employee suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he died. His name has not been released.
The suspect fled on foot immediately after the shooting. Police could not confirm whether the attacker was wounded in the exchange.
Investigators are working to determine what sparked the deadly encounter. They have asked anyone with information to contact the Dallas Police Department.
Legendary Ink operates in an area that has seen its share of violent crime. The shop sits in a commercial strip along Cedar Crest Boulevard, a major thoroughfare through southern Dallas.
