After more than two decades serving diners in Frisco, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine has officially opened a new location in Plano, marking both a move and a milestone.
Now open at 8601 Preston Road, Plano, at the southwest corner of Preston Road and State Highway 121, the restaurant sits just one mile from its former home, making the transition familiar for longtime guests while ushering in a fresh chapter.
The relocation coincides with a major moment for the brand. Founded in 1986 by Gloria and Jose Fuentes, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, a testament to four decades of Salvadoran flavors, Tex-Mex classics and a loyal North Texas following.
A Refreshed Space, The Same Beloved Menu
The new 8,500-square-foot Plano restaurant was built from the ground up and designed to reflect Gloria’s Latin roots with a modern edge. Inside, guests will find vibrant décor, including a Caralarga tapestry and handcrafted pottery from Mexico, alongside an upscale bar and expanded seating.
One of the standout features is the indoor-outdoor patio dining area, fully climate-controlled to make it comfortable year-round. While the setting is new, the menu remains constant. Fan favorites like pupusas, black bean dip, orange roughy ceviche and the restaurant’s award-winning margaritas continue to anchor the experience.

A Thank You To The Community
Gloria and Jose Fuentes remain closely involved with the restaurant, and the Plano opening is as much about looking forward as it is about gratitude. After decades of support from the Frisco and Plano communities, the move reflects an investment in the future while honoring the guests who have made Gloria’s a North Texas staple since its earliest days in Oak Cliff.
With a refreshed space, expanded amenities and the same hospitality diners have come to expect, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine’s new Plano location blends celebration and continuity, offering longtime fans and first-time visitors alike a reason to gather around the table once again.
What’s Next For The Space
Muchacho Tex-Mex from Big Dill Hospitality and award-winning chef Omar Flores is coming to the former Gloria’s location. This will be Muchacho’s third location and a key milestone in Flores’ growing North Texas footprint. A two-time James Beard–nominated chef, Flores has played a major role in shaping modern Dallas dining, and this new restaurant adds another chapter to his celebrated career.
Muchacho is scheduled to open in spring 2026. The Frisco outpost will join Muchacho’s original location in Dallas’ Preston Center, which opened in 2019, and the Southlake location that debuted in 2021.
