Ginnifer Goodwin took her kids to see ‘Zootopia 2’ 6 times

Ginnifer Goodwin doesn’t just star in “Zootopia 2” – she’s contributing to the box office as a fan.

“I have taken my family to see it six times,” Goodwin told Page Six on the red carpet at Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards. “My husband just said to me the other day that we need to see it again before it leaves theaters. So we’re gonna make it seven times.”

The animated sequel has already earned over $1.5 billion globally and become not just one of the highest-grossing films of the year, but of all time.

“I’m in complete shock, especially because I feel like everyone says to us that nobody goes to the movies anymore. Obviously, that’s not true. So let’s just keep supporting this industry,” Goodwin says.

The star and husband Josh Dallas are doing their part, opting to buy their own tickets (all six times) instead of asking for handouts from Disney. “The Dallases are supporting the box office,” she says. “It’s not like I call and ask for tickets. I buy my ticket! I feel like, karmically, one must.”

“Zootopia 2” continues the story of Goodwin’s rabbit police officer character, Judy Hopps, and Jason Bateman’s wily fox, Nick Wilde, as they pursue wanted criminal Gary De’Snake in an effort to clear their names after being framed as his accomplices.

Goodwin says she’s grateful that her two sons enjoy watching her latest film so much, because that’s not always the case: They still refuse to watch “Once Upon a Time,” the fairytale ABC drama where she and Dallas first met while playing star-crossed lovers Snow White and Prince Charming, she told us.

“We do not understand. They have no interest. We’re like, ‘We’re not smooching other people. We smooch each other! When I am pregnant on the show, that’s you in my belly!’ There’s something about seeing us live-action that they’re not ready for,” she added.

It may have been 15 years since the series first premiered in 2011, but a fervent fan community continues to thrive, much to Goodwin’s delight.

She said of the series: “I did it selfishly, because I was obsessed with the material. I’m clearly a Disney nut. It was a life-changing experience, obviously. So the fact that anybody is still watching, I find it shocking and confusing. I’m delighted when people tell me that they were younger when they watched it the first time, and now they’re showing their kids.”

But for now, her own brood will stick with Judy Hopps.
