El Paso County Sheriff’s Office arrests suspects in Socorro shooting, one still at large

SOCORRO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed arrests have been made in connection with a deadly shooting in Socorro, though one suspect remains at large.

The incident occurred on Dec. 27 in Cyan Valley, just off Nuevo Hueco Tanks Road.

Investigators reported that 33-year-old Jose Avila was killed, and three others were hospitalized.

The sheriff’s office stated it could not provide further details as it might compromise the ongoing investigation.
