An El Paso woman accused of driving during a deadly shooting outside a bar is back in jail after her bond was revoked while she awaited trial on a murder charge
Rachel Ramona Rivota, 27, is accused in connection with the shooting death of Christopher Ryan Correa, 35, outside the 10-4 Oyster Pub in the far East Side in 2022. Rivota is scheduled to go to trial on March 9.
The shooter, Alexander Diaz, 29, pleaded guilty to a murder charge and was sentenced to 50 years in prison last year on March 6 in the 171st District Court. Diaz is incarcerated at the Clements state prison in Amarillo with a projected release date in 2072, according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
El Paso County constable deputies arrested Rivota on a personal-recognizance bond revocation warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 7, in the 7000 block of Spruce Wood Court in the Mesquite Hills neighborhood of Northeast El Paso, the office of Precinct 3 Constable Hector Bernal said in a news release.
The arrest took place after Bernal’s office received information that Rivota was wanted on an active warrant. The reason for the bond revocation was not disclosed. Rivota is being held at the El Paso County jail in Downtown under a $100,000 bond.

Rivota was first arrested on a murder charge by the U.S. Marshal’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in September 2022 and was originally held on a $1 million bond, according to El Paso Times archives.
She was released from jail on Jan. 30, 2023, on a split bond of $100,000 (surety bond) and $400,000 (personal recognizance bond), according to the constable’s office and jail records.
El Paso DA: Shooting was ‘senseless act of violence’
El Paso District Attorney James Montoya has described the shooting of Correa as a “completely senseless act of violence” that was recorded on security camera video.
The shooting occurred at 2:20 a.m. on Sept. 18, 2022, behind the 10-4 Oyster Pub, 12275 Pellicano Drive, next to Bob Hope Drive, police said.

Christopher Ryan Correa, 35, who was killed in a shooting outside the 10-4 Oyster Pub on Pellicano Drive in the far East Side of El Paso, Texas, on Sept. 18, 2022, is seen on GoFundMe page created days after his death in 2022.
The DA’s Office and police said that security video recorded Correa and Diaz get into an argument. Diaz walked away before returning and getting out of the passenger seat of a car, walking up to Correa and shooting him several times with a rifle.
Diaz then walked back to the car, put the rifle in the trunk, and walked back to grab shell casings off the ground before leaving in the car, according to the prosecution’s description of the video.
