1. Over 700 schools to take part in Texas’ school voucher program

According to a database released on Thursday, over 700 schools have been approved to participate in Texas’ new school voucher program for the 2026-27 school year.

About 30% of the schools taking part in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program are in the Houston area.

2. Texas agencies report slight decrease in juvenile crime

New numbers show juvenile crime is trending downward — at least for two Texas agencies.

In San Antonio, officials reported a continued decrease in juvenile crime. 

3. National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington named best new museum in the U.S.

The National Medal of Honor Museum opened less than a year ago, and it’s already scooping up national acclaim. A recent USA Today 10 Best ranking from the outlet’s Reader’s Choice Awards named it the best new museum in the U.S.
