AUSTIN, Texas — A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting at the Cambria Hotel, Austin police say. The incident occurred on January 5, 2026, when officers responded to a gunshot report and found 19-year-old Luke Bradburn deceased at the scene.
According to a press release from the Austin Police Department, the shooting happened at approximately 6:55 a.m. at 68 East Avenue #824. The investigation revealed that Bradburn had crashed a vehicle belonging to Maximillian Salinas, of Austin, Texas, earlier that day. After the crash, Bradburn and other occupants fled to the hotel, where Salinas allegedly shot him.
Salinas was arrested on January 6, 2026, and charged with murder. This case marks Austin’s third homicide of the year. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Austin Police at 512-974-TIPS or submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program.
