A Plano man told police was shot by his 15-year-old son, according to a press release from Plano Police. The status of the victim is unknown.

PLANO, Texas — A Plano man was hospitalized after he told police he was shot by his 15-year-old son, according to Plano police. 

Officers responded to a shooting call around 8:25 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, in the 4500 block of Sandy Water Lane, according to a press release from the Plano Police Department. 

The caller, who identified himself as the victim, told 911 dispatchers his 15-year-old son shot him. When police arrived, they detained the suspect, the release states. 

The victim was taken to a hospital by Plano Fire-Rescue, police said. Police do not know the condition of the victim, the release states. 

The incident is under investigation, police said.Â
