EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The motorcyclist who was flown out of Transmountain Sunday afternoon after a serious crash has been identified as an officer with the El Paso Police Department.
The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association has confirmed that Officer Hector Borrego was seriously injured after his motorcycle crashed on Loop 375 at the Transmountain summit on Sunday at around 3:16 p.m.

No word on Borrego’s condition, except his injuries were described by first responders as serious and had to be flown via helicopter out of the area and taken to the University Medical Center.
Borrego was reportedly off-duty when the crash happened.
