Aurora Arts Theatre announced the Coastal Bend premiere of *Come From Away* as the opening production of its 2026 season, directed by Laurie Guajardo-Hoefelmeyer and opening January 16, 2026. The musical tells the true story of how the town of Gander, Newfoundland welcomed thousands of stranded passengers on September 11, 2001, highlighting compassion, connection, and community.

Collage Collage Collage! With Sam Derelth

5-6:30 p.m. at 100 N Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi

The class focuses on cutting paper and creating small collage-style artworks using a variety of paper and magazines, with an emphasis on composition in a relaxed, all-ages environment where fun is the main goal. Taught by local artist Samantha Derleth, a UTSA BFA graduate who works interdisciplinarity, all supplies are provided, though students are encouraged to bring their own paper if desired. LEGO Aviation and Space Exhibit

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  at 4337 South Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi

The CCLUG Aerospace Display Event will take place on Saturday, January 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring aviation- and space-themed LEGO displays, including official sets and custom builds by local creators. Held at Embassy Suites by Hilton in Corpus Christi, the free, family-friendly event also includes the CCLUG January meeting on-site at 10:00 a.m.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  at 6300 Ocean Drive , Corpus Christi

The Department of Music at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi announced its second annual Single Reed Day, a free event for clarinetists and saxophonists in eighth grade and up from across the Coastal Bend. Hosted by Dr. Caitlin Beare and Dr. Matthew York. At the Center for the Arts and Performing Arts Center, with registration required to participate.

11 a.m. at 100 N Shoreline Blvd, Corpus Christi 

This beginner-friendly crochet class for ages 9–15 introduces students to fundamental techniques such as holding a hook, maintaining tension, and creating basic stitches under the guidance of instructor Amber Buhidar. Open to members and the public with registration required by January 15, all supplies are provided, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
