  • January 13, 2026

LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office says the fire in East Lubbock County has been contained.

LCSO said the first report of the fire came at 9:51 p.m. in the 6200 block of E. County Road 7260.

Officials say there have not been any injuries reported in connection with this fire.

The scene is still considered active, and the Buffalo Springs Fire Department remained on scene to address hot spots and ensure the fire does not reignite.

The structures affected were a mix of rental and vacant mobile home properties.

The owners have been contacted and were not in need of services from the Red Cross. One tenet was home at the time of the fire, but managed to evacuate safely.

The cause of the fire has not been determined yet and will be under investigation once the area cools down.

LCSO says an exact count of structures affected has not been confirmed, but it is believed to have been less than five.

Fire departments from Buffalo Springs, Woodrow, Ransom and Slaton were called to fight the blaze.

Slaton police and Buffalo Springs police are also there with the sheriff’s office.
