An Austin, Texas, law firm has filed a more than $10 million lawsuit against several former clients to collect damages, alleging their “refusal to pay earned and contractually owed attorneys’ fees and expenses.”

Williams Simons & Landis is suing Riskon International, Ecoark, Zest Labs Holdings and Bartko Pavia. The suit was filed Jan. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division, according to coverage by Legal Newsline.

In the suit, Williams Simons & Landis alleges that it produced “extraordinary” results for its clients, and the defendants in the case undertook a “concerted course of conduct” to evade payment upon benefiting from the firm’s services.

“At its core, this case is straightforward: Claimant-defendants obtained the benefit of WSL’s work, realized substantial recoveries, and now refuse to pay what they owe,” according to the suit.
