The Fort Worth Botanic Garden just unleashed its 2026 schedule, and it’s basically the city’s ultimate playground for anyone who loves fresh air, magic, and a little wonder. From spring butterflies to LEGO beasts, fairy tale encounters, and hands-on family adventures, the Garden is shaping up to be a nonstop festival of nature and imagination.
“Butterflies in the Garden” — March 1 through April 30
Mark your calendars — butterfly season is about to steal the show. “Butterflies in the Garden” transforms the Rainforest Conservatory into a fluttering, living kaleidoscope. Thousands of butterflies from around the globe flit through tropical blooms, exotic and native species alike, turning every corner into a visual spectacle. Watch them dance inches from your face, land on flowering plants, and flaunt nature’s most dazzling patterns. It’s part science lesson, part magic show, and all Instagram-ready.
“Sean Kenney’s Nature POP! Made with LEGO Bricks” — May 21 through Sept. 8
Think LEGO, but make it epic. Sean Kenney’s “Nature POP!” packs over 800,000 bricks into 40 massive, vibrant sculptures celebrating the wild beauty of the natural world. Birds, insects, and other creatures pop in bold, colorful designs that clash gloriously with the Garden’s living backdrop. Educational nuggets sprinkled throughout make it as brainy as it is visually striking. It’s a playful, family-friendly mashup that will charm art lovers, nature nerds, and LEGO obsessives alike.
“Enchanted Garden” — Starting Sept.
Step into a storybook. “Enchanted Garden” scatters twelve life-size fairy tale statues — fairies, unicorns, leprechauns — across the Garden’s lush landscapes, creating a full-on magical adventure. Each sculpture comes with signage that unpacks the lore behind these legendary creatures. Perfect for families, dreamers, or anyone itching to reconnect with childhood wonder, this exhibition turns a stroll through the Garden into a journey through myth, magic, and imagination.
Baker Martin Family Garden — Opening Late 2026
Fort Worth is getting a two-acre dreamscape for kids and families. The Baker Martin Family Garden is the first major expansion in the Garden’s 20-year Master Plan, designed to spark curiosity and hands-on exploration. Interactive play spaces, hidden nature moments, and immersive design invite children to explore, discover, and connect with the environment. By the time it opens, it will set a new standard for family-friendly green space in the city — and maybe make adults wish they could climb the trees too.
Even with these headline-grabbing attractions, the Garden’s calendar stays packed with perennial favorites: free admission days, educational classes, seasonal blooms, “Blooms & Beats” concerts, plant sales, Japanese festivals, Día de los Muertos, dog-friendly events, and cultural celebrations like “¡Celebramos!” and “Neighbors in Nature.”
