EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Department of Homeland Security has released the identities of two individuals shot by a Border Patrol agent in southeast Portland.

One of the people shot, who is a suspected Tren De Aragua member allegedly entered the US illegally through El Paso.

The individuals, identified as Luis David Nico Moncada and Yorlenys Betzabeth Zambrano-Contreras, are described by officials as criminal illegal immigrants from Venezuela.

Moncada is suspected of being a member of the Tren de Aragua gang, DHS officials said.

He entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 and was released into the country by the Biden administration, according to DHS.

Since then, he has been arrested for DUI and unauthorized use of a vehicle and has a final order of removal, officials said.

Zambrano-Contreras is allegedly associated with the Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and was involved in a prior shooting in Portland, federal officials said.

She entered the U.S. illegally in 2023 near El Paso, Texas, and was also released into the country by the Biden administration, DHS officials said.
