The Dallas Stars will be a little shorthanded on Tuesday night against the Anaheim Ducks.
Just before the game, the team announced top defenseman Miro Heiskanen will be out “due to a personal family matter.” Veteran defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin is stepping in to replace Heiskanen for the time being.
The Stars are on the second leg of a back-to-back after a 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday. Dallas is in the midst of a lengthy, coast-to-coast road trip that began on Jan. 6 against Carolina and doesn’t end until Jan. 15 when the Stars visit Utah.
In 46 games this season, Heiskanen has tallied 29 assists and seven goals while providing top-shelf work along the blue line for Dallas.
