ARLINGTON, Texas — Suspicious fires cause a three-alarm response in Arlington early Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.Â
Arlington Fire crews on scene tell WFAA they responded just before 1 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, to the 700 block of Tharp Street after multiple residents in the area called 911 and reported smelling smoke
When fire crews arrived on scene, they found fire coming from the old Carter Junior High School.Â
Fire officials told WFAA the number of fires set throughout the first and second floors of the building is suspicious.Â
The fires were able to spread to the crawl spaces in the building, triggering a three-alarm response.Â
Fire crews from Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Pantego all responded to the scene to battle the blazes.Â
A fire investigator was called to the scene, according to crews. The cause of the fires remains under investigation.Â
