HOUSTON – Officials at the University of Houston are asking students to be on high alert after a woman was robbed at gunpoint on the campus early Wednesday morning.

According to a security alert issued by the university, officers were alerted to the crime at around 12:30 a.m. It happened near the Justin Dart, Jr. Student Accessibility Center.

The woman said she was approached by a man she didn’t know. The man displayed a gun and demanded that she send him money through CashApp, a popular currency transfer application.

After she complied, he took her wallet and cell phone before running away eastbound on foot.
