LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The veteran tandem of JT Toppin and Christian Anderson was far too much for Utah, as the No. 15 Texas Tech Red Raiders (13-4, 3-1 Big 12) topped the Utes 88-74 Wednesday night at the USA.
Together, the pair combined for 57 points. Toppin posted a double-double performance with 31 points and 13 rebounds. Anderson had 26 points, 18 from behind the three-point line.
The Red Raiders trailed for 26 seconds midway in the first half until Tech retook the lead with a jumper from Toppin. From there, they went on a 55-36 run as they pulled away for the win.
Tech expects a sellout crowd Saturday evening as they return to the USA to host No. 11 BYU. Tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
