The world’s largest single-night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society is set to break records again.
The women behind one of the world’s biggest fundraisers are firing on all cylinders this week as they get ready for a big Saturday night in North Texas.
The Cattle Baron’s ball will continue its tradition as the world’s largest single-night fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The ball funds cancer research, the majority of which is done in Dallas-Fort Worth. Since 1974, it’s added up to more than $105 million.
A record-breaking crowd of more than 3,000 will put the 2025 event in a position to raise record-breaking funds.
Bidding is open now for the CBB 2025 Silent Auction. You can bid from your phone until the silent auction closes Sunday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. Winners will receive instructions by email to pick up auction prizes starting Wednesday, Oct. 29.
A volunteer committee of 100 women makes it all happen with the 2025 co-chairs personally connected to the mission.
Nina Sachse lost her mom to lung cancer in 2014.
“She left this legacy in me and my daughter Ros, and we just want to continue to do good, and spread kindness and do whatever you can on this earth while you’re on this earth,” Sachse said.
Courtney Derderian is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Children’s Medical Center.
“I take care of kids every day that unfortunately, are affected by cancer. And, knowing that, any kind of work to raise funds, you know, for research and things to, to have better treatment options for them is, is really important,” said Derderian.
