LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock Fire Rescue and the fire marshal’s office responded to a fatal house fire in east Lubbock on Thursday morning.
According to LFR, one person was pronounced dead on the scene and another is injured.
The call was made for the fire before 11:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Cedar Ave. LFR said the person who called 911 saw heavy smoke inside the home. They then tried to break the windows of the house to try and save the people inside.
LFR then arrived and crews went into the home from the front and the back. When they went inside, they found the two people.
The injured person was taken to UMC for smoke inhalation. As of right now, it is unknown what started the blaze and an investigation is underway.
