Many of the city of Corpus Christi’s nonessential offices will be closed Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

All offices will reopen Jan. 20.

The city departments that will be closed are:

Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District

After-Hour Kid Power Program Office

Emergency and essential services such as police, fire and the airport will remain open and maintain normal operations.

The utilities business office will be closed, but customers may make utility bill payments online on corpuschristitx.gov, at H-E-B locations or by calling 361-885-0751.

Parks and Recreation

Lozano Golf Center: Open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Oso Beach Golf Course: Open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Al Kruse and H-E-B tennis centers: Open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Collier Pool: Open 6 to 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lap swim, and 4 to 6 p.m. for open swim.

Corpus Christi Natatorium: Open 6 to 8 p.m. for lap swim.

Oso Bay Wetlands Preserve & Learning Center: Walking trails and playground open daily from dawn to dusk. The Learning Center will be closed.

Solid Waste Operations

Garbage, recycling and brush will not be collected Jan. 19. Garbage and recycling will be collected Jan. 17.

The J.C. Elliott Collection Center & Transfer station will be closed Jan. 19.

The Cefe Valenzuela Landfill will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
