2026 PRO SWIM SERIES – AUSTIN

2025 World Championships individual silver medalists Jack Alexy and Shaine Casas were among four men to scratch the B final of the 200 free on the third night of the Pro Swim Series in Austin.

After not swimming his scheduled events on the first two days of home pool competition, Casas will still take to the blocks in the evening for the first time. He’s the top qualifier for the men’s 50 back semifinal, which offers double prize money for the final. The 200 free scratch, in which he finished 18th this morning with a 1:53.34, is likely a tactical one to optimize performance in the sprint event.

Alexy, by contrast, will not compete in tonight’s session. The Berkeley-based sprint ace was a DNS in the 50 backstroke this morning. Alexy finished 12th in the 200 this morning with a 1:50.68. His best time in the off event comes from the U.S. Open last month, when he clocked a 1:48.68.

Joining the two pros in the high number of B-final scratches was Aquajets swimmer Jack Dahlgren. ASU and Swiss athlete Tiago Behar rounded out the four renounced lanes. Dahlgren curbed a double with his 50 back semifinal swim, while Behar is absent from tonight’s heat sheets.

Apart from this event, it was a relatively quiet afternoon for scratches. The highest ranked swimmer to drop was France’s Analia Pigree. The 24-year-old European Champion gave up her #3 seed in the women’s 50 back semifinal. Pigrée registered a 28.86 this morning, a couple tenths behind runner-up Regan Smith and seventh tenths behind fellow Frenchman Beryl Gastadello. She will not compete in tonight’s finals after previously finishing 5th in the 50 free.
