Wrestlers from both promotions will collide on Jan. 24 at Esports Stadium in Arlington.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Some of DFW’s top independent wrestlers will have a chance to mix it up with the stars of Ring of Honor later this month at a special joint show, Global Wars.
Being taped on Saturday, Jan. 24, the show will take place at Esports Stadium in Arlington, where ROH, and its sister promotion All Elite Wrestling, have been taping throughout the month. ROH’s wrestlers will step into the ring with wrestlers from Metroplex Wrestling (MPX), a local promotion which runs every weekend.
The announcement was made Thursday night on Ring of Honor’s weekly TV show by ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, a DFW-based wrestler who also happens to own MPX. The two promotions have worked together in the past, with AEW sharing some of its talent for both of MPX’s prior all-women “Who Runs the World?” shows.
“It is gonna be absolutely phenomenal and one that no one is gonna miss,” Athena said in the announcement.
MPX hosts their own weekly wrestling show from their Bedford location every Saturday, which is booked by Athena as well, featuring local men and women wrestlers from around North Texas and the rest of the state. The shows have ongoing stories and characters and can be watched live from home on the promotion’s Twitch channel.
The show will be taped on Jan. 24 along with that week’s live episode of AEW Collision. Tickets for the full night of wrestling can be bought here.
For those who can’t make it, the special will air on Honor Club, ROH’s streaming platform, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29. Click here to sign up for Honor Club.
