A major medical cannabis provider in Texas now oversees the Lone Star States’ largest industry operation after opening a new headquarters in the capital area last month.
Texas Original is now home to a 75,000-square-foot headquarters in the Austin-area suburb of Bastrop, company officials confirmed in a December 2025 news release. The new headquarters, located at 176 FM 969, Bastrop, TX 78602, marked an upgrade from the medical cannabis company’s former 7,700-square-foot operations. The latest facility features a hybrid greenhouse, manufacturing and testing labs, packaging and dispensing hubs as well as space for distribution and delivery logistics.

Texas Original’s expansion comes after the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 46 last June, expanding the state’s Compassionate Use Program by adding more qualifying health conditions to its coverage scope and forms of use, among others.
Alongside relocation to Bastrop, Texas Original’s former facility south of Austin will now serve as a satellite location to offer same-day pickups for those qualifying patients. Statewide, Texas Original has more than a dozen locations providing medical cannabis access.
“This facility represents the future of medical cannabis in Texas,” said Nico Richardson, CEO of Texas Original, in the release. “Our expanded operations in Bastrop allow us to serve even more patients across the state, and with the quality expected from Texas Original. As legislative changes under House Bill 46 create opportunities for more Texans to access medical cannabis, we’re ready to meet that need.”
Products offered by Texas Original include cannabis-infused gummies, chocolates, tinctures, concentrates, topicals and beverages.
