SAN ANTONIO — A security guard has died after getting into a physical struggle with a suspect early Saturday morning.
Officers were called just after 5 a.m. to the 6800 block of Military Drive West for an assault in progress.
Police say a security guard was struggling with a female suspect who had previously been trespassing at the location.
The guard was struck multiple times during the struggle and while officers were interviewing him, he fell face down onto the pavement, police said.
The 57-year-old man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect was detained. The investigation remains ongoing.
