LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a recent shooting as 53-year-old Alfredo Franco Garza. The suspect, 54-year-old Leslie Harston, was arrested following the incident.
The shooting occurred in the 6100 block of E CR 7260, where deputies responded to a shots-fired call at approximately 2:38 p.m., according to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office. The caller reported shooting an unknown person on their property. Upon arrival, deputies found the gunshot victim, who was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition and later pronounced deceased. The caller was also taken to the hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.
The investigation led officers to request a warrant for Harston, who was arrested and is currently held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a murder charge with a $250,000 bond, stated the source. The investigation remains ongoing, and the Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is involved in examining the circumstances of the event.
