PEARSALL, Texas – Two former Pearsall High School students have died after a two-vehicle crash in Pearsall Saturday night.
The crash happened around 5:47 p.m. at the intersection of North Oak Street and East Trinity Street.
According to the Pearsall Police Department the collision involved a white Ford truck occupied by one person and a gray Scion sedan carrying three occupants.
All three people in the Scion sedan suffered serious injuries. The driver was transported to a San Antonio hospital for treatment, while the two passengers were taken to Frio Regional Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
In a statement, Pearsall High School confirmed the victims included former students, noting the tragedy has deeply affected the close-knit community.
“Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of former students,” the statement read. “This tragedy has deeply impacted our small community, and we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to all families and loved ones affected during this difficult time.”
The school announced counselors will be available on campus Tuesday, January 20, to provide support to students and staff in need.
