Do you believe in ghosts? If you do, then Texas is one of the best places to meet one.
ISo how are we feeling about ghosts? Do you believe that the dead can interact with the living? Maybe you think that some spirits linger because they have unfinished business—or perhaps you take a more scientific stance and believe that certain people leave behind an energy imprint, visible to some but not all.
Ghosts have long fascinated us, perhaps because they sit at the intersection of faith, fear, and science. But one of the biggest questions surrounding them is this: if they’re real, why aren’t there more of them? With billions of people who’ve lived and died, shouldn’t our world be absolutely packed with spirits? And in an age where everyone has a high-definition camera in their pocket, why don’t we have a single piece of conclusive evidence? Even the TV show Ghost Hunters produced 251 episodes and 12 specials without ever delivering undeniable proof.
Texas Ranks as One of America’s Most Haunted States
Still, as Halloween rolls around, it’s fun to suspend disbelief for a moment—especially here in Texas. A recent study revealed that Texas ranks as the second most haunted state in America, trailing only New York. The data showed an average of 22 reported ghost sightings per 10,000 people, suggesting that plenty of folks in the Lone Star State have had encounters that can’t quite be explained.
