Woman attempting to leave argument fatally struck by car while crossing busy street

SAN ANTONIO – A woman has died after being struck while crossing a major roadway.

Around 9:20 p.m. on Friday, police were called to the scene of a major collision involving a pedestrian near the corner of Bandera Road and Loop 1604.

According to officers on scene, the victim, a woman, may have been involved in an argument with another person, and in an attempt to diffuse the situation, attempted to cross Bandera going towards a restaurant.

While crossing Bandera, a white sedan struck the female, leaving her with severe injuries. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after.

The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the police. Bandera Road was closed while traffic officials completed their investigation.
