This is not goodbye, it’s so long for now, according to the State Fair.
DALLAS — The State Fair of Texas has made the decision to pause its rodeo for the 2026 fair season, officials say.Â
In a statement released on Sunday, the State Fair says it evaluates its entertainment, attraction, and exhibitor offerings annually to ensure a balance of tradition and innovation while remaining financially responsible. The affordability of experiences for families remains the top priority, officials say.Â
“Our support for the Texas equine industry remains strong, and we hope to welcome events like these back when conditions allow,” the State Fair says.Â
The release urges participants in the rodeo and equine events to monitor their email for further communication.Â
