SAN ANTONIO – Two San Antonio Police officers are hospitalized after an accident after a driver allegedly ran a red light.
The accident happened just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Bandera Road and West Loop 1604 North on the Northwest Side.
Police said the officers were traveling through the intersection on a green light when another driver failed to stop at her red light, crashing into their patrol vehicle broadside. The impact caused the officers’ vehicle to leave the roadway and hit a utility pole.
Both officers are reportedly alert and talking. One sustained a head injury, while the other suffered neck and back injuries. Both are expected to be okay.
The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed.
No charges are expected at this time.
