EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A student was arrested after assaulting a teacher at Parkland High School last week.

Officials with the Ysleta Independent School District said the incident happened on Jan. 14.

Officials said a student physically assaulted a teacher at Parkland High School, resulting in the teacher sustaining injuries.

The teacher received medical attention and is expected to recover, officials said.

Officials said the student was arrested.

The school district said it is investigating and taking appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with the district’s Student Code of Conduct.

All Parkland High School parents were notified of the incident and encouraged to contact the school if their child needs additional support or counseling.
