EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 29-year-old driver died Monday morning after he rear-ended a semi-truck on I-10 in Far East El Paso while speeding.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Fernando Aria Jr. was killed after he crashed while driving a white Kia through I-10 East near Eastlake Boulevard at around 1:40 a.m.
Investigators said Aria Jr. reportedly was speeding and failed to control his speed, crashing into the back of a semi-truck.
Authorities said the crash remains under investigation.
The crash closed all lanes on I-10 East at Eastlake, but by 9 a.m., they reopened, according to the El Paso Police Traffic X account.
