Dallas police arrested five people early Monday morning after they gathered at a traffic accident scene and began assaulting officers and interfering with the investigation, according to a statement.
Officers responded to an assist officer call in the 500 block of North Zang Boulevard around 12:05 a.m.
Police were initially on scene investigating a car crash when a crowd gathered and allegedly assaulted officers and interfered with investigation procedures.
Additional officers were called to take five people into custody, the statement said.

Carlos Nolasco, 21, was arrested and faces charges of interference with public duties and resisting arrest search or transport. As of Monday afternoon, he remains in the Dallas County jail with no bail set, according to jail records.
Joel Huerta, 36, was arrested and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance under one gram and interference with public duties. As of Monday afternoon, he remains in the Dallas County jail with no bail set, records show.
Jaqueline Ramirez Reyes, 26, was arrested and faces one charge of assault on peace officer.
Jennifer Hernandez, 23, and Yadira Saldago, 28, were both arrested for public intoxication and on outstanding warrants. Police did not publicly state what charges the other warrants were for.
As of Monday afternoon, Hernandez, Saldago and Ramirez Reyes were no longer listed in the Dallas County jail records.
No officers were injured during the incident, the statement said.
