Lubbock’s historic Cactus Theater is a wonderful place to see a classic film. Not only is the theater beautiful, the seats comfy and cozy, the concession stand is spectacular- enjoy a glass of Cab Sav with your popcorn if you like (I do), and it’s so reasonably priced!

I recently attended their showing of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and had a phenomenal time. This month, the Cactus is continuing its Spooky Season screenings with two homages to film’s greatest monster: Frankenstein.

Cactus Theater Showing Two Classic Frankenstein Films

Tomorrow (Tuesday, October 21st), Cactus will have a screening of the hilarious Mel Brooks 1974 classic Young Frankenstein, starring Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, and Terri Garr. The film will be shown at 7:20 p.m. and tickets are available online or at the box office.

On Thursday, October 30th, Cactus Theater will have two screenings of Bride of Frankenstein, the 1935 classic starring the gorgeous Valerie Hobson and the horror icon Boris Karloff. To this day, the monster makeup effects are some of the most beautiful ever recorded on film. You can catch this classic during the matinee screening at 2:20 p.m. or the evening showing at 7:20 p.m.

Other Upcoming Films At Cactus Theater

Cactus Theater will also be showing (a huge favorite of mine) Edward Scissorhands on October 29 with both a matinee (2:20) and evening showing (7:20).
