As the Stars attempt to right the ship and get things back on track, they’ll have a much harder time of it on Tuesday.
Prior to the evening’s matchup against the Boston Bruins, Dallas Stars PR announced that forward Mikko Rantanen, the team’s leader in points this season, will be out on Tuesday due to illness.
The Stars have lost three straight games and 10 of their last 12 in what’s easily been the team’s worst stretch of the season. Snapping that skid against the 28-19-2 Bruins wasn’t going to be easy to begin with, but now they’ll have to do it down an offensive focal point.
Rantanen leads the team with 63 points in 2025-26 (19 goals, 44 assists). He also plays more than any other Dallas forward other than Wyatt Johnston, Glen Gulutzan and the Stars needing to fill in Rantanen’s usual 20-plus minutes on Tuesday.
Sports Roundup
It’s only the second game this season the Stars will be without Rantanen, the other due to a one-game suspension issued by the NFL.
Dallas has dropped 10 of its last 12 games, while Boston enters the matchup on a six-game winning streak.
Robertson will be a restricted free agent this offseason.
Bichsel skated with the team Monday for the first time since November.
