AUSTIN, Texas — An unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle early Sunday morning, according to the Austin Police Department. The incident occurred at 3:42 a.m. on January 18, 2026, in the 8000 block of N IH-35 service road southbound.

The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, stated the source. This marks Austin’s fourth fatal crash of the year, resulting in four fatalities. In comparison, on the same date in 2025, there was one fatal crash resulting in one death. The investigation is ongoing, and fatality information may change.
