LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Shortly after No. Indiana claimed its first-ever national title with a 27-21 win over then No. 10 Miami, the Associated Press released its final rankings from the 2025 season and the Texas Tech Red Raiders (12-2, 9-1 Big 12) finished at No. 7- the best in program history.
This ranking is also highest of the six Texas schools listed including No. 8 Texas A&M (11-2), No. 12 Texas (10-3), No. 22 Houston (10-3), No. 24 North Texas (12-2) and No. 25 TCU (9-4).
Along with Tech, Houston and TCU, other Big 12 schools are No. 11 BYU (12-2) and No. 14 Utah (11-2), Arizona (9-4) received votes.
The Red Raiders begin their 2026 campaign Saturday, Sept. 5 against Abilene Christian.
