Zeethewizard was shot by a member of his own “entourage” during a fight with another group while they were all at a Dallas strip club to ring in the new year, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Dameian Roberson, 26, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Task Force Tuesday and faces a murder charge. As of Wednesday night, he remained in the Dallas County jail with no bail amount set, according to jail records. It was not immediately clear if Roberson has a lawyer.

The 25-year-old Dallas rapper, whose birth name is Zec’Qurie Cannon Grant Fields, died several days after he was shot in the head while at the nightclub that was celebrating its grand opening.

Dallas police obtained surveillance video footage that showed the moments leading up to the rapper’s death at the venue, according to the affidavit.

Police first responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of Pink House Dallas, located at 1311 Empire Central Drive, on Jan. 1 around 3:35 a.m.

According to the affidavit, officers were told four other people injured by gunfire were transported by private vehicles, though police located Fields at Parkland Hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound to the head. Officials have not disclosed any information about the other victims’ conditions.

Fields was performing at the nightclub before he exited and went to the parking lot around 3:32 a.m. with three other men, described as his entourage in the affidavit. One of the three individuals was Roberson, according to the document.

The group ran into four men outside the entrance to the club, which led to an altercation that escalated as both groups began to back away and draw firearms, the affidavit said. It remains unclear what sparked the confrontation.

Both groups exited the gated entrance of the parking lot, and Roberson, along with the two other men with Fields, can be seen on video holding guns, according to the affidavit. The court document said shots were fired, although it remains unclear which group fired first.

In the footage, Roberson can be seen holding and firing a handgun while standing directly behind Fields as the rapper falls to the ground. Fields died in the hospital on Jan. 5.

The affidavit does not say if Roberson intentionally shot the rapper or if he was aiming at someone in the other group and accidentally shot Fields.
