The annual Fall Stand Down and Homeless Community Triage will offer hot meals, medical screenings, clothes and other resources to those in need Oct. 25.
KILLEEN, Texas — Operation Stand Down Central Texas will host its annual Fall Stand Down & Community Triage event on Saturday, Oct. 25, offering resources and services to those in need.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the organization will offer hot meals, haircuts, medical screenings, new clothing and shoes and other resources at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center, located at 3601 S. W S Young Dr. in Killeen.
The event is sponsored by the City of Copperas Cove, Bell County, the City of Killeen and the Central Texas Homeless Coalition.
The City of Copperas Cove said it will provide transportation to and from the event. Transportation will be provided to and from the Copperas Cove Public Library at 501 Main St. at 8:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. and from the Wendy’s parking lot at 2740 E. Business 190 at 8:55 a.m., 10:55 a.m. ad 12:55 p.m.
Operation Stand Down Central Texas is a nonprofit organization that aims to assist homeless veterans and their families in the surrounding Central Texas community. This year’s event marks the 12th annual Fall Fall Stand Down & Community Triage in the Central Texas area.
Operation Stand Down also holds a community triage event each spring.
