NORTHLAKE – Kathleen Wagoner Sims passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 86. A graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date. Kathleen was born on October 11, 1939, in Handley, Texas. Kathleen worked for many years as a clerk in the Tarrant County court system before retiring. Afterward, she continued working in the Albertson Bakery until fully retiring. She enjoyed reading, playing slot machines, and following politics. Kathleen was especially proud of her nephew, Harris Hughey, and actively supported his political campaigns by walking neighborhoods, making phone calls and holding campaign signs. Kathleen was active in her church and volunteered her time reading to elementary school children. She faced life with strength and resilience, never complaining and meeting challenges with grace and determination. Kathleen was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ophelia Nichols; her brother, Mike Nichols; and her children, Eydie Vidrine and David Sims, to whom she was a devoted mother. She is survived by her nephews, Harris Hughey and his wife, Cheryl, and their two sons and their families; Steve Holland and his wife, Tonya, and their family; and her nieces, Heather Ranes and Deanna Vetzel, and their families.
