SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has provided some updates on the fatal shooting of a teenage boy on the Northeast Side last week.

Deputies were called out around 11 a.m. last Friday to the area off Woodlake Parkway and Lakeview Drive. Upon arrival, deputies found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The sheriff’s office says they have arrested a 15-year-old male juvenile in connection to the shooting on a charge of tampering with evidence. Following questioning by investigators, the male was booked into the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Although tampering charges have been filed, the sheriff’s office says the homicide investigation remains active and ongoing.

While the victim has not been positively identified as of yet, deputies say the teen has been tentatively identified as a 15-year-old juvenile male. Initial reports did give the victim’s age as 14. The investigation into the victim’s identity is expected to finalized on Monday, deputies said.
