The Dallas Cowboys and team owner Jerry Jones are expected to head into the upcoming NFL offseason with an aggressive mindset.

After yet another season full of disappointment and another season of missing the playoffs, Jones and company are hoping to turn things around. Heading into this offseason, the Cowboys will have an extra first-round draft pick and another extra first-round pick next offseason. They have the means to be aggressive in trade discussions.

Dallas could also look to be aggressive in free agency. Jones will have some money to play around with.

With that being said, one of the first priorities will be figuring out the future of star wide receiver George Pickens. Many expect him to re-sign with the Cowboys, but other teams will have interest in him as well. After that situation is figured out, Dallas will need to focus on revamping the defense.

Devin Bush, Cleveland Browns

Keeping that in mind, a new suggestion has been made for the Cowboys. That suggestion would be the team signing Cleveland Browns free agent linebacker Devin Bush.

Pro Football Focus analyst Mason Cameron named Dallas as the best potential team fit for Bush in free agency.

“The Cowboys have been known to take swings on former first-round picks, and Bush could be the next. Dallas ranked 28th in EPA per play allowed on designed runs and also surrendered the seventh-most yards per carry,” Cameron wrote.

“Adding Bush to play alongside Logan Wilson, who was acquired at the trade deadline but didn’t find his footing under now-fired defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, should net improvements to the group.”

Bush is coming off of a 2025 season with the Browns that saw him play in 17 games. He racked up 125 total tackles to go along with two sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, three interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and eight defended passes.

Those are the kind of numbers that the Cowboys need to target adding to the defense. They need players who can make plays. Bush has proven himself capable of checking that box.

There is no guarantee that Dallas will have interest in Bush this offseason. However, the Cowboys would make a lot of sense as a potential landing spot for him.
