LSU women’s basketball dominated Texas A&M 98-54 in College Station on Thursday. The No. 6 Tigers totaled 22 assists from eight different players and all but one available player scored.
MiLaysia Fulwiley came off the bench to score a game-high 23 points. Grace Knox made all nine of her shots and finished with 19 points while Amiya Joyner finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
Mikaylah Williams passed out nine assists. She scored her first points of the game in the third quarter but pulled out all the stops to set up her teammates throughout the contest. LSU came away with a 49-24 advantage on the boards as well.
Texas A&M gave LSU all it could handle in the early goings, going up by four and holding two separate leads in the first quarter. Then Fulwiley checked into the game and promptly knocked down two triples on back to back possessions. She extended the Tigers’ lead to four points and they continued to build from there.
LSU opened an 18-4 run between the first and second quarter as it grew its paint presence on both ends of the floor. Texas A&M got just nine shots off in the second quarter as it struggled to get the ball inside. The Aggies committed 10 turnovers while LSU came away with six steals in the second frame. The Tigers led 41-22 at the half.

There was no let up from LSU in the third quarter. It outscored Texas A&M 37-19 in the frame, shooting 56.5% from the field and dishing out seven assists. Knox exploded for 11 points while Joyner scored seven points and pulled down six rebounds.
Substitutes rolled in and out for Kim Mulkey’s team in the fourth quarter. Her team heads back to Baton Rouge to start a three-game home stand.
FINAL: LSU 98, Texas A&M 54
All but one active player for LSU scored in the blowout win at Texas A&M. The Tigers finished with 22 assists from eight different players and a 49-24 advantage in rebounds.
Starters head to bench for LSU
Kim Mulkey subbed five on to replace LSU’s starters with under four minutes remaining in the game. Milaysia Fulwiley finished with 23 points while Knox notched 19 points. Joyner finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
LSU eclipses 20 assists
Williams led the way with nine dimes, followed by Fulwiley with four and Flau’Jae Johnson with three. Nine different players have scored for LSU, which leads 86-49 with 4:50 left in regulation.
END 3Q: LSU 78, Texas A&M 41
LSU put its foot on the gas, outscoring Texas A&M 37-19 in the third quarter. The Tigers shot 56.5% from the field and dished out seven assists in the frame. Knox exploded for 11 points while Joyner scored seven points and pulled down six rebounds.
Assists from LSU shine in third quarter
The Tigers are finding each other with ease on the offensive end. Knox has been on the receiving end of multiple dimes from her teammates in the third quarter. She has nine points in the frame.
Williams eclipsed nine assists with two in the third quarter. LSU leads 61-35 with 5:21 left in the third quarter.
LSU goes into Joyner for paint control
Joyner has been relentless in the paint against the Aggies. She rebounded her own miss and fought through pressure to get to the line. She sank both foul shots to bring her totals to nine points and seven rebounds.
Aggies ride Pryor for offense
Pryor scored four-straight points on two foul shots and a blow by for the layup but LSU had the answer. The Tigers are currently on a 5-0 run thanks to Williams’ first points of the game and a three-point play by Joyner. They are up 48-26
END H1: LSU 41, Texas A&M 22
Every available player saw time in the first half for LSU. Despite a shaky opening, the Tigers imposed their will on both ends of the floor for much of the opening 20 minutes. Fulwiley leads all scorers with 16 points while Williams has seven assists.
LSU finished the half shooting 43.2% from the field and a 24-14 advantage in rebounds.
Fulwiley dazzles for LSU as first half winds down
Fulwiley finished a three-point play then made a euro step layup in the middle of the lane over two defenders to push LSU’s lead to 21 with 1:18 left in the first half. Subs are rolling in for the Tigers.
Steal and score from Fulwiley extends LSU lead
Fulwiley showed off her skills on both sides of the ball, picking the pocket of Pryor and finishing it on the opposite end. LSU is on a 6-0 run and up 33-15 with 4:27 remaining in the first half.
Three-pointer ends dominant LSU run
LSU opened an 18-4 run between the first two quarters to take a commanding double digit lead. Texas A&M stopped the bleeding with a triple of the hands of Janneh. The Tigers are up 31-15 with six minutes left in the second quarter.
Subs start for LSU in second quarter
Bella Hines, Kate Koval, ZaKiyah Johnson and Fulwiley began the second quarter. Johnson sank two free throws on a put back attempt to extend LSU’s lead to 11 points a minute into the second quarter.
END 1Q: LSU 21, Texas A&M 12
Fulwiley scored nine points on three triples, powering LSU ahead to end the first quarter. Texas A&M went over two minutes without a field goal on the back half of the frame.
Texas A&M calls timeout as LSU heats up
Richard knocked down a triple, LSU’s fourth of the quarter, to prompt a Texas A&M timeout with 29 seconds remixing in the first quarter. LSU is up 21-12.
Fulwiley gives LSU another lead
Fulwiley wasted no time after being subbed in at the media timeout. She buried two three-pointers on back-to-back possessions. LSU is up 15-10 with under three minutes to play in the first quarter.
Flagarant fouls assessed to both teams
Joyner and Janae Kent were each assessed a flagrant one foul for an exchange underneath LSU’s basket as a shot went up.
LSU behind in the paint
LSU is being outscored 6-4 in the paint and only has an advantage of two rebounds over a shorter Texas A&M team. Both teams are four of 10 from the field. The Tigers also have two turnovers while the Aggies have played clean thus far.
Aggies go back in front
On a second chance opportunity, Pryor finished a layup with Joyner challenging. Texas A&M is up 9-8 with 4:42 left in the first quarter.
LSU takes first lead on three-point play
Flau’Jae Johnson was fouled on a jump shot. The senior sank the basket and took the contact. She made the ensuing free throw and gave LSU a 7-6 lead, its first of the game.
Knox ties game on layup
Knox has all four points for the Tigers. She got a feed from the top of the key and finished it from right underneath the basket. LSU has yet to lead at Texas A&M with 6:48 left in the first quarter.
LSU falls behind early
Texas A&M drew first blood, going up 4-0 on two of three shooting from the field. LSU made its third shot from the field on a jumper by Grace Knox. The Aggies are up 4-2 with under eight minutes left in the first quarter.

Flau’Jae Johnson, Mikaylah Williams, Jada Richard, Amiya Joyner and Grace Knox make up LSU’s starting lineup. It is the first start for Knox since Georgia as she gets the nod over fellow freshman ZaKiyah Johnson.

Texas A&M offers relief after LSU’s recent stretch. Four of LSU’s first five conference opponents were ranked. LSU left that span with a 3-2 record, but finished on a high note with the wins over Texas and Oklahoma.

LSU will look to keep flexing its muscles on offense on Thursday night. The Tigers’ offense averaged 124.3 points per 100 possessions — that’s the best mark in the sport.
How LSU freshmen played against SEC opponents
Grace Knox and ZaKiyah Johnson are the two main contributors among the true freshmen for LSU in conference play. Knox has one start against Georgia and played 76 minutes through the five games. Johnson has three starts, including against Texas and Oklahoma, and 125 minutes.
Against the Sooners, Knox played 20 minutes and scored 13 points, her highest total in SEC play. Johnson scored in double figures against Vanderbilt, Georgia and Texas while also pulling down five or more rebounds.
LSU heads home after Texas A&M game
The Tigers head back to the PMAC for three-straight home games after facing Texas A&M. Florida comes to Baton Rouge Monday followed by Arkansas on Thursday. LSU finishes out to home stand February 1 against No. 23 Alabama.
