Local polling locations are closing and election proceedings are being put on pause amid the winter storm set to hit North Texas on Friday night.

Below are the counties that have issued statements regarding weekend closures.

Collin County

The Collin County Elections Department said it will close all polling locations scheduled to be open for early voting ahead of next weekend’s special election for Frisco and Plano.

Denton County

The Denton County Elections Department will close all polling locations scheduled to be open for early voting ahead of the Jan. 31 election.

The following locations will be closed Saturday:

Denton County Elections Office Frisco fire stations 4, 6 and 7Frisco Government Center

Tarrant County

The Tarrant County Elections Administration said it is unclear whether all polls will be shut down for early voting in the state Senate District 9 runoff vote.

The following polling stations will be unavailable, according to the administration’s website.

The Bedford Public Library, Handley-Meadowbrook Community Center, and Como Community Center, will be closed Saturday and SundayThe Tarrant County College Northwest Campus will be closed Saturday through Monday.
