EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) – The Socorro Independent School District hosted its 14th annual mother-daughter conference on Saturday at Montwood High School, bringing together female students and their mothers or other positive female role models for a full day of connection and learning.

The conference welcomed girls in grades 6 through 12 and focused on strengthening relationships through meaningful conversations and interactive sessions. Participants explored topics including college opportunities, self-defense, the dangers of social media, and other issues impacting young women today.

Attendees spent the day bonding while gaining tools and information designed to empower students and support their personal and academic growth.

This year’s keynote speaker was Victoria Olivia Isais, an award-winning realtor and author of “Love Life and Life Will Love You Back.” Isais delivered an inspiring message encouraging attendees to value self-worth, resilience, and strong relationships.

The event was offered free of charge, allowing families from across the district to participate. Attendees were also encouraged to bring canned food donations to help support families in need throughout the community.

A light breakfast was served Saturday morning as participants arrived, kicking off the day’s activities.
