SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KCBD) – The No. 19 Texas Tech Lady Raiders (20-2, 7-2 Big 12) ended any discussion about a potential slump as they dominated 77-49 on the road Saturday night.
In a game where the Utah’s appeared disconnected and out of sorts, the Lady Raiders capitalized all through the game. After ending the first quarter with a 19-8 lead, followed by a 39-20 advantage at half, Coach Krista Gerlich’s team stayed in control throughout. Once the fourth quarter began, Tech comfortably held on to a 63-32 lead.
While senior guard Snudda Collins lead with a career-high 28 points and was 6-for-7 behind the three-point line, her fellow senior guard Bailey Maupin registered 15 points. Forward Jada Malone had 11 points, nine in the second half.
This win ends the two-game losing skid suffered first last Saturday vs. Kansas State (65-59), and Wednesday at BYU (73-61).
Tech returns to the United Supermarkets Arena Wednesday night, where they welcome Iowa State, and will then host the defending Big 12 Champs TCU next Sunday.
