Harbor Bridge roadways remain open despite cold weather in Coastal Bend

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Despite cold temperatures across the Coastal Bend, all roadways and elevated structures within the Harbor Bridge Project limits remain open.

The Harbor Bridge Project said this includes U.S. 181, Interstate 37, and State Highway 286. Officials say a second round of roadway pretreatment continued into late Saturday as crews prepared for lingering cold weather and potential icy conditions.

While temperatures remain low this morning, no closures are expected at this time. Officials say they will continue monitoring conditions, and closure notices will be issued promptly if needed.

Drivers are still urged to use caution, especially during early morning hours when bridges and overpasses are most vulnerable to freezing.
