SUGAR LAND, Texas – A fatal crash is under investigation in Sugar Land Sunday after a driver ran a red light and collided with another vehicle just after midnight, according to police.
Sugar Land police say the crash happened at the intersection of Burney Road and West Airport Boulevard when the driver of an SUV ran a red light and T-boned another vehicle.
The rear passenger in the second vehicle was pronounced dead after succumbing to his injuries, authorities confirmed.
Three additional people were transported to the hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
The Sugar Land Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
Officials did not immediately release the identities of those involved or any additional details as the investigation remains ongoing.
