“Don’t let it be forgot that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot.”
— From the musical “Camelot
That spot called Camelot was no regular place. It was a realm the queens, kings and knights frolicked. Forests, gardens and waterways were part of the draw to the place. Queen Guinevere, King Authur and Sir Lancelot called it home, and there was a certain amount of prestige that came with the enchanted spot.
It’s as beautiful a parcel of land as exists in Colleyville, which I’ve seen firsthand at an exquisite private event hosted by the property’s current owners.
Now, for the first time in 30 years, you, too, can get your own enchanted spot. As we first told you about in June, the property listed as 3216 Glade Road in the center of Colleyville is ready for a new fabled life. Some of us can absolutely attest to it.
“It’s stunning,” said Realtor Susan Bradley with Allie Beth Allman & Associates. She has this unique 14.41-acre property listed for an even $10 million. “There’s just not another one like it.”
The park-like setting in the middle of Colleyville is ready for a castle.
This Colleyville kingdom with old-growth trees and picturesque bridges, awaits its king and queen.
Modern-Day Kingdom
This lush setting has been the gorgeous site of private events, including the lovely wedding at which I was a guest. Imagine a landscaped setting that’s Instagram worthy for the backdrop of a wedding or gala event. Drive up the curved road to a lush landscape, fit for a queen, a king or a bride.
Bouquets of flowers greeted guests at a wedding held at this Colleyville property.
Driving through one of the two gates on the property seems like going back in time. The trees reach majestically upward, the greenery is lush and the rolling land waits for a permanent palace. The City of Colleyville has it zoned for a single-family residence, although it was once zoned for a 20-lot subdivision, according to Bradley. Now the acreage in the middle of the North Texas suburb with a population of about 26,000 can become a modern-day kingdom.
The property’s two bridges are straight out of a fairy tale.
Spanning more than 14 acres, the property features enough space to build a palace, a chateau or a castle, with room remaining for a moat or two.
A gravel road meanders through the property, starting at one gate and ending at the other, with both opening onto Glade Road. Two stone bridges, termed “European style” by Bradley, span tributaries that feed into the property’s pond.
The northern expanse of property awaits a modern-day palace. Beside a sizable chateau, the property stands ready for a swimming pool, horse stable or even a tennis court fit for jousting.
“There’s space for whatever you’d want to build,” the Realtor said.
Gates to DFW
Located between Fort Worth and Dallas, Colleyville is a suburb with a peaceful, affluent vibe. This property, surrounded by stunning chateau homes, offers easy access to Highways 121, 114, and 183. Its 15-minute drive to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport makes it ideal for commuters and frequent travelers.
Whether arriving on horseback or by hybrid, this property offers more than land. It’s a chance to open the gates to rewrite Camelot for 2025 in North Texas style.
“It’s a golden opportunity,” Bradley said. “There aren’t any other properties this magnificent.”
Magnificent enough for a queen on horseback, a king in armor or a bride and groom saying “I do.”
